A sibling may be the keeper of one’s identity, the only person with the keys to one’s unfettered, more fundamental self.
~Marian Sandmaier
Emily and Elise are siblings removed by 11 years. There are times when this age difference can be pretty evident. But then there are times when they are hanging out, goofing around, and you can tell that no number of years can disarm their relationship. They are close. They are friends. They take care of each other. They argue. They make up. They will always come through for one another. They are sisters.
I’m lucky to call them my sisters.
I’m right in the middle of these two. (Middle children everywhere unite! Who’s with me?!) They are my balancing weights, they keep me honest and make me laugh every time we’re all together. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without them.
