“There are thousands of these odd moments in London. You will discover your own…” A.A. Gill
One month ago, we launched ourselves into enchantment. Here are some details.
Our destination: London (and Paris…but that comes later).
Duration of stay: Six days.
Reason for going: Adventure of the distinctly British (and Parisian…but still, later) variety.
Travel partners: The father unit and the brother unit.
Mode of transportation: Car, plane, plane, train, cab, feet, cab, train, cab, feet, cab, train, cab, feet, feet, feet, feet, cab, feet, cab, plane, plane, cab.
Camera and lens unit taken: Nikon D3 + 50 mm, 1.4
Photographs made: Many lots and then some.
What you are about to see is but a small sampling of those many photos. These were taken within a few hours of us stepping off the plane that sling-shotted us across the Atlantic Ocean. We were sleep-deprived, jet lagged, somewhat confused about what had just happened (see: jet lag), eager to explore, eager to drink more coffee (as we checked in, the hotel staff graciously noted the look of meager caffeination in our eyes and rushed up a tray of strong bean juice and sugar cubes; two of our main food groups…you know what I’m talking about), and despite the overabundance of awakeness over the previous 24 hours, we couldn’t wait to make introductions with this magnificent city.
Much more to come!
