All the tiny little moments passing subtly away forever. Preserving those moments is what first attracted me to photography many a moon ago. The same can likely be said for almost every person who ever picked up a camera before, whether they describe it as such or not. We are already ten days in to September. Just one month (and a handful of days) until our wedding, and I could not be more surprised that we’ve come so far so quickly. (Even though every person I ever spoke to in the wide world told me this would be exactly how it went.) It’s evermore apparent that preserving these special, fleeting moments of our personal lives is so, so important.
As you’ve come to expect over the past couple of months, the tenth day of the month signals the arrival of another installment of 10-on-10.This project provides a great reminder to breathe in the delicious wonder of our own lives, and not just that which we have the honor of documenting during the course of our careers.
Dan and I recently traveled to Boston for an intensely short stay. He was going for a work-related conference/workshop; I was going because I had a camera, the will, and a desire to take a day away from the consistent chaos of my Colorado life right now. I had less than 24 hours to wander and photograph my way around the town. Here are ten of the photos I most liked from that time. No easy task to narrow down my full take to just these ten, but it is a good exercise in photographic self-control.
Happy September to you all!
