This is Darrell Anderson. Say hello.
He is the man behind the artwork you see here. Well, really, the man in front of the artwork you see here. (Anyone? “But really folks, is this thing on?” ….OK fine, goodbye forever.)
About a week ago I had the opportunity to shoot a few photos at Mr. Anderson’s public art unveiling. This piece – entitled “Imagine” – is located in downtown Denver. It’s multisensory (when I heard this, I oh so intelligently asked if you could smell it; answer: no, but you can listen to some music that spills forth), interactive and as you can see, quite colorful.
Denver has an impressive array of public art installations and I think this one adds a good kick to the northern side of the city.
As for Mr. Anderson? He was so jovial, excited, gave off this relaxed sort of energy. I know that doesn’t really make sense, but trust me. He was self-assured, proud, and the friends that gathered around him to celebrate this accomplishment embraced all he had to offer.
This gentleman was incredibly animated when he spoke. His eye caught me, camera plastered to my face, and he was kind enough to hold his dance-like pose for the shot. Love it!
