I’ve attended several sports events recently in an attempt to hone my “action shooting” (as it were), and practice photography in a capacity I don’t often dabble in. What I’m finding: I’m much more drawn to the action off the field, than what’s illuminated by the bright ol’ lights.
There are so many little stories taking place within the larger context of the event, whatever event that might be. Whether it be spectators there to support their kids, children dreaming of the day when they too can don a jersey of their own, or athletes waiting on the sidelines in quiet support of their teammates, there’s a vivacity to the scenes opposite the field.
Here are a few moments I’ve capture over the past few months.
