For those of you just tuning in….
The last time we saw our intrepid explorers, they had been in Europe for less than 24 hours. Having landed in London the day before, they were now in Paris (also for less than 24 hours). They had just finished exploring Notre Dame and the immediate, surrounding area.
Now, two months later, I relate to you the second half of our day trip to Paris. I’ll refrain from speaking in the third person.
Mostly.
OK, I might not.
No promises!
I believe I told you that I could almost certainly compose an entire post centered around the Eiffel Tower. This isn’t quite that post, but it’s close. If you hate architectural heart throbs, feel free to click out of the site now and return another day. Go drink some coffee, ponder the pleasantries of pastries, get back to me with any revelations.
Do you hate me yet? We’re almost through with this Eiffel survey. It’s just so spectacular. Drink it in with me.
Fitting to finish with Mona, don’t you think? She’s one popular gal.
How to sum up a trip to Paris? I’m not sure it’s possible. Especially when your trip lasted only one day. So instead, I leave you with some bright minds, who are much more eloquent than myself:
“A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life.” –Thomas Jefferson
“There is but one Paris and however hard living may be here, and if it became worse and harder even—the French air clears up the brain and does good—a world of good.” –Vincent van Gogh
“Paris is a hard place to leave, even when it rains incessantly and one coughs continually from the dampness.” —Willa Cather
Next, we return to London!
