Last night I was at a ballet.
As Act I commenced, and the performers pranced around the town square in apparent jubilation, my companion leaned over and whispered, “Do we know why they’re dancing?”
Me: “…because it’s a ballet.”
I digress.
Elise turned 16 earlier this month. I like to do photo shoots for such life markers. I like the idea that she (and her family!) will have these photos to look back on when she’s 18. 21. 25. 30. 100! She can look at them and be reminded of who she was at the beginning of her 16th year, and also be aware of how far she’s come in her life.
She’s a bright young lady, this one, and I expect she’ll do wonderful things.
Like be a doctor.
Or a bricklayer. (So said her school placement test, so say I.)
Never mind.
(Sometimes she’s such a teenager.)
(I swear she has the best posture of anyone, anywhere, ever. Don’t let these photos fool you.)
You’re gorgeous, Squish. Just so you know.
The Audrey Hepburn Face.
Right?
