Kelsey & Zach || wedding photography

Wedding editing. Not an easy phrase to say. Especially after a visit to the dentist which included the numbing of half your face. A phenomenon I have never experienced, barring that time in my youth when I had all four wisdom teeth removed. Which is another story for another time and has nothing to do with wedding photography at all. Wow, five sentences in and I’ve driven us off the map. Is it the weekend yet? ALMOST! (Seriously, longest week ever. One day I’ll sleep and that will be a grand moment.)

The point is, we photographed a wedding for dear Kelsey and Zach a few weeks ago and I’m editing through their wedding photos, and loving them and being very grateful that we get to work with so many amazing couples on their very special days. So here are three photos from the take that I’m excited about and wanted to share with you to cap off this week.

This flower girl was the most absolute delight of a flower girl I ever have seen. And yes, “most absolute” is redundant and unnecessary. But look at her. So sweet.

Christina & Steve || wedding photography

Ah, weddings in June. In Colorado. A state well known for its proclivity for wild weather swings.

We photographed a wedding a few weeks ago at the Denver Botanic Gardens for a wonderful couple, the very dear Christina and Steve. Great people, a gorgeous venue, we had a grand time. Especially when the 60 percent chance of rain actually held off and we had the perfect weather for the ceremony. Thank you, Colorado.

One of my dearest friends, Grace, got married in Crested Butte last month. She was exquisite in every way. I see a lot of weddings in this wedding photog gig of mine, all beautiful and touching in their own right, but I will admit that this is the first celebration I’ve photographed in which I teared up while shooting. I’ve known Grace for many years now, and to see such a wonderful gal up there, so thrilled and happy, it’s indescribably fantastic to witness.

We ventured out into the monsooning Colorado summer to document the wedding of Jessica and Alex. In a black forest in Colorado (one recently devastated by a fierce wildfire), we found an old chapel built in the 1920s. With exquisite paintings, and a southwest flair, we photographed Jess and Alex exchange their forevers.

It was a beautiful wedding, with just enough sunlight to get us through. We’ll share more images soon.

in the woods || engagement preview

As you may recall we have a rather involved proposal story. As such, we always love hearing tales from our couples about when they got engaged. Especially when those couples want to incorporate their proposal stories into an engagement shoot.

Alex and Jessica also got engaged while out on a hike in the woods. So, as we brainstormed engagement shoot locations, they pretty quickly decided the perfect place would be back on that trail in the mountains…

I’ll have many more from this session soon, but just loved these two images and decided to share them posthaste. What can I say, I’m the captain of this ship and am drunk with power. And possibly too much caffeine.
