Every now and then something remarkable will grab your attention.
This sunset that poured through the office windows last Thursday made a swarm of reporters, editors, photographers, look up, pause with wonderment, and grab whatever camera they had to snap a quick shot from the balcony.
It didn’t last for much more than ten minutes, but it was enough time to remind us all to stop, take a deep breath, and reaffirm that the world is a big and marvelous place.
This will be a big ol’ roundup, the likes of which you haven’t seen here before.
So circle the wagons, settle around the fire, and grab yourself some cornbread while you slog on through these.
Denver is a unique place.
We have beautiful scenery and mountains that draw every variety of skier and snowboarder and adventurer to it.
We have a relatively thriving metropolis. It’s not big by Manhattan-standards, but it holds its own. It’s growing and making a name for itself.
We have history and tradition. The Molly Brown House. The Brown Palace Hotel.
The Hotel – a very opulent place, beautiful, shiny, they serve a high-tea (and check out that chandelier) – has one particular tradition that kicks in once a year during the Stock Show.
It involves a red carpet.
And a cow.
What do you think of when you think of “the west”?
