Sipping and Painting || Denver art photography

A few months back, my mother, sister and I went to a Sipping and Painting session. It’s a fantastic idea. You are provided with all the supplies – a canvas, paint, brushes – and a nice glass of wine. Then, for the next three or so hours you get creative and make a mess. Well, I made a mess. Finger painting may or may not have been involved.

They lead you in creating a specific painting, but encourage you to do whatever you want if you are inspired to take your art in a different direction. The three of us stuck to their example, but tweaked it a bit to our own preferences.

I loved being creative in a way totally separate from photography. It makes you think along a different avenue than you’re most comfortable in. It challenges you. And that’s always good, right?

Plus, honestly, whenever you get a chance to splash paint around, enjoy good company, have a glass of wine, that’s always good too.
