At 7 a.m., we woke up, grabbed some coffee, filled the gas tank, and hit the road.

Our quest: to film a video. Our mission: to welcome you to the Colorado Campaign.

Today is the day. I am so excited to see what you all come up with in the weeks and months ahead for this project.

But before then, brace yourselves for this video.

A few notes:

(1) I’m still a bit under the weather, and am functioning mostly on cold medicine and caffeine, so, you know, fair warning.

(2) I have never before today filmed, nor cut together, a video. Even just a two-and-a-half minute video. Slideshows yes, motion pictures no. Let’s just say I don’t expect Ken Burns will be shaking in his boots any day soon. However, we had a great time driving all about the state, so go with it.

(3) The song featured in this video is called The Perpetual Self, by Sufjan Stevens. He’s got some great music, so check him out.

(4) This whole endeavor wouldn’t have been nearly as fun without my brother joining me for ride. Plus he made the whole endeavor infinitely more safe as he drove while I did the filming. Thanks, buddy.

(5) This entire video was filmed using the iPhone 4 and the 8mm app. Oh technology, how we love you.
