This two-desks-in-a-row thing is likely a problem, right?
Over-achieving much?
Not exactly a good “build it and they will come” move. One can’t write big thoughts when one can’t reach the desk.
The desk against the wall was my grandmother’s. My mom gifted it to me as a truly lovely birthday gift. It was my grandmother’s for at least 50 years.
We’re working on its history prior to my mother’s memory.
I love that about antiques. They have a history – a story – all their own.
Who sat at this desk, had their big thoughts at this desk, and wrote at this desk prior to it being placed in my humble studio?
It could very well remain a mystery long after I gift it to the next person years from now. But until then, I will imagine all sorts of lovely things about it.
And work on removing the old, obstructionist desk posthaste.
