memory. compassion. || Memorial Day

Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery, June 7, 2010.

This post was originally intended to land on Memorial Day, read: yesterday. But, in the activities of the day, I never got to an internet connection, and I’m not organized enough to set up an automated posting schedule. However, this sentiment should never be confined to one day only, so without further ado…

Memory. Respect. Duty.

Compassion. Strength.

Love.

These are the things on my mind for Memorial Day.

To our troops, our veterans, you will always be our heroes.

What you do daily, most of us can never fully understand. And it’s because of you, that we  hopefully will never have to.

Thank you. Truly.

Those two words seem so nonchalant and insincere. But an immense gratitude is there, backed by a great deal of compassion. And most importantly, love.

You will not be forgotten.
