I have known Kenny and Katie since high school. We survived semi-permanent substitute teachers in English class, and ever-failing computers while on the newspaper staff, and many performances while in choir (not to mention a brief stint in the spring musical).

Though friends in high school, they fell out of touch in the years following graduation, and then on a whim one day several years later, they struck up a conversation on Facebook. Before long, I was sitting in a Starbucks with Kenny, and he was showing me a ring.

These two, simply put, are awesome together. Throughout our entire engagement outing, as I fiddled around with location and made Kenny climb out over open water on a tree limb (somehow he didn’t like this plan; Katie however was all for it!), they joked around with each other, laughed constantly, and spoke with the excitement that comes with promising their lives to one another.

Katie and Kenny, I am so happy for you two. You’re delightful, generous, amazing people. Thanks for spending some time with me and sharing your story.

Yes, they were pretty much this goofy throughout our excursion. I love them for it.
