The Love Language | Boulder, Colo.
Sometimes, I just don’t feel that creative.
A mind block shuts me down.
I reach out into the void that is the gray matter of my brain (which coincidentally I found out this weekend isn’t fully formed until about the 25th year of life…gives me 385 more days to use that as an excuse) and I get nothing in return.
Nothing.
The void remains a void.
On such days though, I think it’s important to push through. To give your all to stoking the creative fires and come up with something. Anything.
One can’t wait her entire life for inspiration to skip among the gray field of cells that make up her lumpy brain. Sometimes it’s more important to push through the block and go frolic in that field without an inspirational invitation.
And so, this is what I have for you today:
Random anecdotes about frolicking within my own head. (Yes, my mother wonders about me, why do you ask?)
I also pulled up some random photos from my archives.
Lance Armstrong | Denver, Colo.
Back in August, Lance Armstrong came to town to promote a professional cycling tour that will take over Colorado later this year.
I (due to a good dose of luck) was able to position myself well enough to get this shot. He’s the one in the silver helmet.
I would like to thank him for turning his head in my direction for that fraction of a second. It was much appreciated.
Chris | Somewhere in the United States of America
I can’t quite remember what led to this particular shot, but it’s one of my favorite brother photos. He’s more like a twin than a younger brother.
He gets me.
Elise and Emily | Littleton, Colo.
Somewhere between Chris, Elise and Emily, I exist. (Not only because I’m a middle child.) We have similar characteristics, mannerisms, ideas, loves, dislikes, and goals. Some mix of all of them equals me, and vice versa. They are all – individually and together – pretty much my favorite thing.
What do all of these photos have in common? I have no idea.
Ask the gray matter. It’s in control.
And mad with power.
