My youngest sister, Elise, Squish-extraordinaire that she is, spent last weekend with me.
We got our party nails going – hers are more elegant, mine say, “Let’s go dancing!” (any takers on that?) – saw the Pioneer Woman, and ate some awesome Mongolian barbecue.
Today, Squish turns 16. How it’s possible she’s already a full-fledged teenager, and where the nickname “Squish” came from, are complete mysteries.
As I work those two conundrums out, here are a few more pictures from the occasion (all shot with the iPhone 4; some using the Hipstamatic app).
Squish: Happy Birthday! You’re an amazing gal, so smart and so gorgeous, and I love you dearly.
Breakfast chandeliers. The birthday girl! Breakfast decor. Breakfast donuts. (Mmm…)
A hat store. Chris and Emily chowing on lunch. The kind chef-guys making lunch. And a bookstore-goer, educating himself on the day’s news.
I will be taking Elise on a full-fledged photoshoot to commemorate her birthday this weekend. (I haven’t entirely ditched the DSLR camera for the cell phone variety!) I also have some frames to share with you from my second poms photo session of a few weeks back.
So, tune in next time!
Love ya more than breakfast donuts,
