She scattered the bird seed all around the foot of the fountain. Just throwing it around, fall where it may, waiting to be picked up by one of her cohorts from the sky.
I halfway expected her to extend a bag and say, “Feed the birds. Tuppence a bag.”
But this isn’t London. Nor the Mary Poppins movie.
Sadly.
However, it is a good lead-in to another installment of recents from the fancy phone photo roll.
It being Christmas-time and all (a shout-out to my Jewish friends — Happy Hanukkah!), it seemed a fitting time to dash a little holiday cheer up on a.e.photography.
Last year, I showed you how to narrowly avoid electrocuting yourself while decorating your tiny apartment. This year, I give you something a little less dangerous, a little less perilous, and lot more glittery.
We do December up right here in Colorado.
From the weather – a balmy 11 degrees for a high today, folks – to the carnivalesque decorating job done to our City and County building in Denver (as seen above), we like to grab holiday spirit by the twinkle lights and really celebrate the season.
Which leads me to this edition of Weekend Roundup.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a good laceless shoe cameo on a.e.photography.
Some facts about the laceless shoes:
The quartet sang their harmonies in German.
A member of the cast, planted among the audience, stood up and read her speaking part as The Wealthy Woman.
The quartet responded.
The bartender set down the vodka and tonic he had been crafting, stepped out from behind his counter, and recited his own practiced lines as The Sailor.
I took a sip of my beer.
It wasn’t exactly what you would call a typical Friday night.
I was in a bar, and I was watching a German opera. There’s something about those two sentences that don’t really go together and I don’t think it’s the phrase “German opera.” (Though, you know, I’m no expert.)
