Molly and Hugh revisited || Plant update

Every morning I place him gently onto the window sill for a little sunbathing.

And silently pray I don’t drop him and watch his short life flash before my eyes as he plummets to the ground two floors below.

I’ve had just about all the plant passing I can take lately.

Molly, dear Molly, is gone.

She did so well through my time away back in December. Thrived even. Then, within weeks, her little fronds started drooping.

Then they fell off.

Then she expired.

These nails were made for dancing || Weekend roundup

My youngest sister, Elise, Squish-extraordinaire that she is, spent last weekend with me.

We got our party nails going – hers are more elegant, mine say, “Let’s go dancing!” (any takers on that?) – saw the Pioneer Woman, and ate some awesome Mongolian barbecue.

But my absentmindedness is another story entirely.

A tiny little lens || Cell phone photography

Sometimes it just isn’t possible to bring the big boys to the game.

I have a wonderful DSLR camera and a modest (that’s realtor language for small; I’m by no means rich!) contingent of lens. They enable me to do all varieties of photography, in different settings, for different purposes. I wouldn’t give up these tools for anything.

However, even though I’ve got a heart full of love for this company of photographic equipment, there are times when I can’t bring ’em all along on my adventures (sorry fellas). It’s at such times that I’m so grateful for cell phone cameras.

A weekend roundup in three images

This weekend I was spoiled by having three consecutive days off. This rarely (read: never) happens, and I returned to the life of a working stiff today feeling steady and content and ready for the week.
